Rajnikanth's remark against the Kannada people during the fasting on Friday, April 4, 2008 created stir amongst the Kannadiga. During his speech, he said, "... udhaikkavenda avangala (hit them or beat them)..."
A section of the political party blowed the issue and said that, he wanted Tamil to hit and beat Kannada people and is provoking violence. They also wanted unconditional apology from the leading actor.
They have decided to protest and ban all Rajnikanth's film in Karnataka until he apologizes.
This is the first time, he has participated in an event that called for his full support for Tamil Nadu, where he had seen huge success in his career. This means, he has to go against Karnataka where he was born and brought up and acted his first movie.
We have to see whether the BOSS will backtrack in his words to convince the Kannadigas.
